The Public Transport Council issues bus service licences, bus service operators' licences, transit ticket payment service licences; and regulates bus service standards and bus and MRT/LRT fares. In discharging its functions, the Council seeks to safeguard the interest of the public and ensure the long-term viability of public transport operators.
